Classic Week New York Feb 2025

Art from antiquity to the 21st century

  • Event date 4 - 7 February
  • Event location New York

This February, Classic Week returns to New York, inviting you on a journey through art from antiquity to the 21st century.

Our Old Masters sales bring together works by some of the most celebrated names in art history: Pieter de Hooch, Frans Hals and J.M. W. Turner. Deaccessioned from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Dutch Golden Age paintings come to the market, alongside drawings by Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, Jean-Baptiste Oudry, Eugène Delacroix and Honoré Daumier.

Fine French furniture takes centre stage in Important Classic & Decorative Art while Antiquities brings together a diverse selection of Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Byzantine objects, with gorgeous ancient jewellery formerly in the collection of Ernst and Marthe Kofler-Truniger of Lucerne. And for lovers of fine silver, Global Treasury: The Collection of Selim and Mary Zilkha offers rare works ranging from the Renaissance to the 19th century, including the exquisite Zilkha Aldobrandini Tazza. The Important Classic & Decorative Art sale features fine French and English furniture with storied provenances, as well as exquisite porcelains, Russian Fabergé and John Michael Rysbrack's dynamic marble portrait bust of Benjamin Franklin.
