The Collector returns to Christie’s London, Paris and New York as the international platform for connoisseurs and collectors of Decorative Arts. The sales are brought to you as a three-part series, with all lots opening for browsing on 3 April, bidding on 10 April and closing consecutively by sale location on 23rd, 24th and 25th April.

The London sale is distinguished by pieces with rich provenance from important British and European collections including the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, the family of Louis XVI, the Bayreuth collection of silver and the Earls Fitzwilliam at Wentworth Woodhouse.

In Paris, The Collector brings together works of art that illustrate centuries of artistic creation and features a curated selection of objects and furniture from French and European private collections, with a particular focus on 18th-century France. Some important ébénistes and menuisiers of the Siècle des Lumières such as Jean-Henri Riesener, Philippe Pasquier, Jean-Baptiste Claude Séné and the Jacob dynasty are represented. Also this season the Collector Paris includes an impressive group of gold-mounted hardstone snuff-boxes, and some highly decorative porcelain services form Bernardaud and Raynaud Manufactures.

The New York edition of The Collector sale is honored to present property from three American Museums, including a group of superb pâte-sur-pâte porcelain from The Museum of the City of New York. This season will also feature a selection of important collections highlighting fine and decorative English furniture, from the early Georgian period to the late Regency, including an elegant George I Japanned Bureau Cabinet and a pair of George II Girandole Mirrors. Other notable collections include the James Grafstein Trust as well as The Collection of Fritz and Lucy Jewett.
