Lot Essay

A version with figures by Francesco Trevisani is in the Schörnborn collection, Pommersfelden (see F. Zeri, La Natura Morta in Italia, Milan, 1989, p. 830, no. 986).

We are grateful to Professor Zeri for confirming the attribution to Pfeiler on the basis of a photograph. He believes that the figures in this picture may be by an assistant of Trevisani.
