The rectangular bardiglio marble top above a frieze with pearled lambrequin headed female mask and two stylised flowerheads above a central pair of trellis-filled green pleated silk-backed doors, with stylised palmette lock-plates, enclosing an oak-lined interior with two adjustable shelves to one side and two folio compartments to the other, flanked by headressed ormolu caryatids and tapering pilasters, the sides banded in colonial hardwood, on stepped plinth, marble possibly later
