A French ormolu and Sevres-pattern porcelain mantel clock
Last quarter 19th Century
Surmounted by a twin-handled 'jewelled' urn flanked to each side by a scrolled and foliate-cast dolphin, the circular dial with Roman numerals and painted to the centre with a bird and nest, the twin-train movement with countwheel strike on a bell, above a painted panel depicting a woman and child in a landscape, with a further porcelain panel to each side and supported on two pairs of Egyptian-style columns, on a shaped base with a winged sphinx to each side and on a shaped plinth
