A 'GIRL-IN-A-SWING' GOLD-MOUNTED SCENT-BOTTLE ÉTUI
Circa 1755, Charles Gouyn's factory, the mounts later

Modelled as a three-quarter length bust of a scantily-draped woman holding a basket of chestnuts under one arm, set on a tapering plinth painted with flower-sprays, the stopper formed as her head, the cover to the étui hinged at her waist (slight flaking to some enamels) 4 1/2in. (11.5cm.) high
