A WORCESTER KAKIEMON ARMORIAL COFFEE-CUP AND SAUCER AND A BLUE-GROUND BOWL FROM A LADLE

The first painted with two crabs, a mythical beast and shrubs, the coat-of-arms (perhaps Beauville) within a purple rococo scroll cartouche (both pieces extensively repaired), the saucer with blue crossed swords and 9. mark; the ladle-bowl with a brightly coloured butterfly within a circular gilt line and scroll cartouche reserved on a dark-blue ground, attached to a later silver-mounted whale-bone handle, the bowl 2in. (5cm.) diam. (2)
