CIRCA 1640-50, PROBABLY ENGLISH OR DUTCH

With very slender blade of stiff diamond section widening into a leaf-shaped spear-like point, the iron hilt with guard comprising two assymetrical upturned oval shells (some damage) with numerous circular and star-shaped piercings, linked by slender bars to the base of the arms, slender scrolled quillons, fluted plummet-shaped pommel, and later wooden grip (rust patinated overall)
