AN UNUSUAL 28-BORE PERCUSSION SPORTING RIFLE FITTED WITH A FINE INDIAN BARREL

The barrel in three stages with shaped muzzle and encrusted gold decoration, and deeply etched to produce a ribbon effect waving from side to side over its entire length, cut with eight grooves, fitted with single-leaf folding back-sight, and originally intended for two ramrod-pipes, scroll engraved patent breech with platinum plug, long scroll engraved tang, back-action lock engraved with scrollwork and a hind, figured walnut half-stock, chequered grip, scroll engraved white-metal mounts and escutcheon, and set trigger (ramrod missing)
