A GEORGE III GILTWOOD WALL-BRACKET
The shaped top with a band of concave stylised leaves above laurel swags on three scrolled supports with foliate decoration, the rear centred with a tapering semi-circular fluted bracket, on a foliate base

The serpentined and palm-wrapped wall-bracket, with its tripod stem of acanthus-wrapped and husk-festooned volutes springing from an acanthus-flowered plinth, relates to a sketch for a girandole wall-light of the early 1790s preserved in the archives of Gillows of London and Lancaster (see L.
