Each formed of a circular section sheet metal tube, on quadrant hinges, terminating at the face with two repoussé dragons' heads flanking a cusped circular panel, the central band with an inscription commencing 'al-'izz al-daima (?)' divided by a crescent motif, the lunette panels above and below with radiating floral motifs, the fixing pin for the hinged quadrant running through this central panel, the reverse of each with a brief inscription, some denting

Lot Essay

The inscriptions on the backs of the closing mechanisms can be read as: 'amal Musa ...' on the one and '... Dimashq' on the other.
