The canted triangular tray top with satinwood interior above three scrolling serpent supports, on a concave-sided canted triangular base with beaded edge, restorations to the serpents, with two screw-holes to the underside, restorations, the underside with label inscribed K.K./privil. Lot Essay

The label to the underside of the top probably refers to the furniture manufactory founded in 1804 by Josef Danhauser. By 1808 this manufactory employed 130 craftsmen, and only executed furniture to designs by Danhauser. The manufactory closed in 1838.
