Lot Essay

Chadwick was chosen in 1956 by the British Council to represent Britain at the XXVIII Venice Biennale. He exhibited several other major pieces in addition to 'Radar (The Listeners)' including 'The Inner Eye' (Museum of Modern Art, New York), 'Idiomorphic Beast' (City of Bristol Museum & Art Gallery) and 'Teddy Boy & Girl' (Nelson A. Rockefeller Collection). He was awarded the International Prize for Sculpture.
