2° (520 x 325mm). Engraved title and 18 hand-coloured double-page maps of the world, continents and principal countries of Europe. (Tears at lower centre-fold to many maps, Europe cleanly torn along fold, one section of Germany torn away, many sheets affected by 18th century annotations and doodles, title stained.) Contemporary limp travelling calf, rubbed. Sold not subject to return.

Johann Hübner (1688-1731), a geographer in Hamburg, worked for both J.B. Homann and Palairet. This school atlas, published some time after his death by the Homann heirs, was prepared for use with Hübner's geographical course in Hamburg.
