A LARGE CARVED RED LACQUER PEAR-SHAPED VASE, HU
18th/19th century
The globular body carved with two large circular panels depicting mountainous river landscapes populated with deer among pine trees, enclosed within a trellis-pattern border and reserved on a densely- scrolling ground interspersed with lotus flowers, all between a key-pattern band and small lappets at the mouth and similar bands at the foot rim, applied with a pair of bronze handles shaped as antlered deer-heads, rim and surface chips
