A FINE ART NOUVEAU PLIQUE-À-JOUR ENAMEL AND DIAMOND BROOCH BY AUCOC

Depicting a polychrome plique-à-jour enamel girl holding a peacock feather within a swirling line of diamonds, with French assay and indistinct maker's marks, circa 1900, 6.2cm. high (pearl drop deficient)

Louis Aucoc (1850-1932) employed floral and linear motifs in simple forms. He collaborated with G. Landois the designer and figurative representations were cast from models by the sculptor Edmond Henri Becker, who worked for Boucheron. He was president of the professional association of Parisian goldsmiths and jewellers.
