[ELIZABETH I (Queen of England, 1558-1603)]. PRIVY COUNCIL document, a warrant signed by Sir Thomas Egerton (as Keeper of the Rolls, 'C[ustos] S[igilli]'), the Earl of Essex, Lord North, Sir Robert Cecil, Lord Buckhurst and Sir John Fortescue, addressed to Lord Buckhurst and Sir John Fortescue as Chancellor and Under Treasurer of the Exchequer, for the payment of the account sent by the Mayor of Chester for shipping and victuals, and 'for y. diett of 600 soldiers ... and for y. keepinge of 97 horses and transportacion of all these that were latelie sent from thence into Ireland under y. charge of S. Samuell Bagnell', amounting to 'the summe of nyne hundred twentie five poundes nineteene shillings and ten pence', and requesting that this sum be paid to John Stiles, the Mayor's reprentative, Nonesuch, 19 September 1598, one page, folio, integral address leaf, papered seal, endorsements (seal tear in blank portion of leaf).
