woodcut, circa 1496-7, a proof impression without text, aside from the German and Latin text editions, with an indistinct, circular watermark, with narrow margins at the left and right, a thread margin or trimmed on the borderline at the top and bottom, a short tear extending 15mm. from the farthest head of the Beast at the right, four short backed tears at the sheet edges, a spot of surface skinning at the far left, affecting the distant trees, an area of surface abrasion on the reverse, otherwise generally in good condition
