etching with drypoint and engraving, 1651, fourth state (of six), a fine impression with burr below De Jonghe's right hand and in the background at the left, with traces of sulphur tinting, watermark Foolscap, with thread margins or trimmed fractionally inside the platemark at the upper and lower sheet edges, trimmed approx. 3mm. inside the subject at the left, and fractionally inside the subject at the right, a tiny nick and backed loss at the upper left corner, a small abrasion in De Jonghe's cloak lower left, a horizontal crease at the top, small spots of brown ink on the chair and on the cloak lower left, one or two small foxmarks, old paper at the upper reverse right corner, the remains of old tape along the reverse left sheet edge
