Lot Essay

The style and technique of the present drawing is comparable to these of other drawings by the artist in the Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan and in the Janos Scholz Collection at the Pierpont Morgan Library in New York, G. Bora in Il seicento lombardo, exhib. cat., Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, Milan, 1973, nos. 113 and 118, illustrated.
Professor Giulio Bora kindly confirmed the attribution of this and the following lot, pointing out that the draughtsmanship is unusual.
