Similar head studies inspired Count Algarotti when he tried his hand at etching under Tiepolo's guidance. The same combination of the head of a satyr and the head of a Medusa appears in a drawing in the Kupferstickabinett, Berlin, M. Levey, Giambattista Tiepolo, London, 1986, p. 132, pl. 121.
