cover 1792 (Water Mouse Year) edict issued by the Ministry of Defence addressed to Officers of the"Tinkye-Dzong" announcing that if any member of their family joins the Army the family will receive a 50 tax exemption, showing Ministry seal in black and Dalai Lama seal in red; a footnote in a different hand to the main letter exhorts Tax Officers to obey the above exemption order as "China has already reached an agreement with Nepal", it was apparently written in 1797; some peripheral paper faults (not affecting text) as is to be expected with such an ancient and delicate document.
