Chassis No. B77/2159
Engine No. 211E6015
Red and black with original red interior.

The Beardmore Motor Company Limited was formed by G.H. Alsworth, F. Luther and William Beardmore just after the first world war, although the company's 11hp, 15hp and 30hp cars failed to attract the attention of the buying public. In 1920 the company lost £115,000 and losses on a smaller scale continued throughout the decade. Few of the models were sold apart from the 15hp, most of which became taxis. By 1928 more than 6,000 taxis had been supplied to London alone and in 1932 half the taxi business was sold and production was transferred to north London. In 1939 Beardmore severed its connection with taxis, although they were revived in 1954, remaining in production until 1967.

The 1964 taxi on offer today is finished in black over red and retains its original red interior, original meters and taxi fare paperwork relating to the change to decimalisation. The paintwork is old but presentable and the body appears to be in good, sound condition throughout. The interior upholstery is in very good condition and the car appears to be mechanically good, having seen daily use in its present ownership. It is sold with a new MoT certificate and a Swansea V5 registration document.
