Lot Essay

'The first two day's journey lay up a river course or nullah in which fragments of rocks, etc. made the passage very difficult - the other few days journey over the sides and tops of mountains from which scenes of the grandest kind were exhibited'(WD letter; Cotton, 1923, p.16).
