A CHINESE EXPORT BRASS-MOUNTED, BLACK AND GILT-LACQUER CABINET
Late 17th early 18th Century
Mounted overall with florally-engraved pierced mounts and decorated with Chinese park landscapes with various birds, the rectangular top above two doors enclosing a fitted interior with twelve variously-sized drawers, the central drawer decorated with two figures playing chess, the divides decorated with Nashiji lacquer, on a later ebonised and parcel-gilt stand, with moulded top above scrolling panelled legs, the cabinet inscribed in chalk to the reverse 'HEYWORTH' and with old depository label inscribed 'HUDSON'S DEPOSITORY'S WILTON ROAD, VICTORIA STATION, SW1.....'
