The rectangular padded back, out-scrolled arms and squab cushion covered in silver green silk velvet and edged with tassels, on cabriole legs headed by an acanthus leaf and terminating in pad feet, both back legs spliced one back foot broken, re-railed and re-framed

Altered by Phillips of Hitchin and invoiced on 2 July 1948 as 'To supplying an early 18th Century walnut single chair (an heirloom of Capt. Mainwaring) restoring and converting same to an upholstered armchair and covering in blue silk velvet 90 - -'
