A gilt-bronze-mounted commemorative panel stipple-engraved by Laurence Whistler
Circa 1968
The oval slightly concave panel finely stippled with a formal garden landscape with low fountains and a triple jet in the distance before mountains and the moon, the foreground with a trident above a mirror-monogram flanked by the dates 1918 and 1968 (minute chip to edge of panel), the gilt-bronze mount in the form of a heart and an ankh, above a shaped rectangular foot, the edge inscribed Hugh and Vera Dawson, Golden wedding, March 30 1968, from their children Ursula, Avice, Patricia and her husband John Menzies, Trevor and his wife Caroline.
