Two Hispano-Moresque copper-lustre dishes
16th century
The first with a broad flared rim and a central emplacement for a ewer, lustred with birds among scrolling foliage within a square cartouche, the border similarly decorated with trailing foliage, the underside with a large bird among stylised fronds (slight chips to rim and border, pierced), 16¾in. (42.5cm.) diam.; the second with raised central boss, stencilled with a stylised flower and fence on a terrace surrounded by meandering berried foliage, pierced (rims and centre rubbed), 12½in. (31.5cm.) diam. (2)
