cover 1841 (1 Mar.), BE, margins all round, very neatly cancelled and tied in black to envelope addressed to Newtownards showing the large red framed handstruck "In consequence of irregularities in the Comber Post Office, you/are requested to preserve this Envelope for future investigation" with the time amd date of posting completed in manuscript, the reverse showing Comber and Newtownards backstamps; the envelope with light creasing and soiling and small perimeter fault at right in no way detract from this fascinating item.
