Lot Essay

This miniature is from the same manuscript as fifteen in the Pozzi Collection depicting animals and planets. The catalogue entry under those points out the similarity of the paintings to the works of Siyawush Beg (Robinson, B.W.: Jean Pozzi -- L'Orient d'un Collectionneur, Geneva, 1992, nos.94-108, pp.125-126, pl.XVI and on p.258).
