The ivory field with delicate flowering vine around a central shaded blue cusped medallion with palmette pendants enclosing scrolling palmette and flowering leafy vine, shaded blackcurrant-red scrolling flowerhead spandrels, in an ice blue meandering floral vine border between golden yellow flowerhead vine stripes, kilim strip at each end with a row of piled flowerheads, very slight colour-run
5ft.10in. x 4ft.3in. (178cm. x 130cm.)

Lot Essay

The row of piled flowerheads in the kilim strip at each end is a most unusual feature, being more normally associated with silk Tabriz rugs of much later date.
