Open back with padded top, the whole delicately carved with fine tendrils and pierced with foliate scrolls, original muslin covered upholstery

Lot Essay

The attribution of this piece to Hector Guimard has been confirmed by Alain Blondel and the lot is accompanied by a certificate to this effect dated October 1993.
This chair will be included in the catalogue raisonné of Guimard's work currently in preparation by Alain Blondel.
