A Carved Wood Christian Folding Missal Stand
Late 18th/early 19th Century
Decorated in red, green and gilt, with a central sunburst halo within a square, containing the monogram of The Society of Jesus IHS (Jesu Hominum Salvator) surmounted by a cross, above the three nails of the crucifixion, surrounded by blossoming branches, the front foot panel similarly decorated, the feet cut away with a decorative outline, the reverse with gilt foliage, probably Goanese, (fading to lacquer colour, some slight old damage)
