Comprising two semi-eliptical end-sections and two associated twin-flap drop-leaf tables; the semi-eliptical ended rectangular top above a plain frieze on club legs with pad feet, restorations to shrinkage splits on one leaf, one leaf chipped where it joins another leaf, one foot chipped

Almost certainly supplied to Sir John Bland, 7th Bt. (d.1755) for Kippax Park, Leeds.
Thence by descent to the present owner.

Lot Essay

A related dining-table was supplied to Sir Robert Walpole, later 1st Earl of Orford (d. 1745) for the Marble Parlour at Houghton Hall, Norfolk (illustrated in P. Macquoid and R. Edwards, The Dictionary of English Furniture, London, rev. ed., 1954, p. 221, fig. 27.
