The 9¾in. sq. dial with silvered Roman chapter ring and single counter-balanced blued steel hand, the tulip-engraved centre signed James Delance Froom Fecit within an engraved lambrequin, winged cherub-and-foliate spandrels, the massive movement with four square section brass pillars rivetted into the base plate and secured with brass nuts at the top plate, anchor escapement, the three train movement with strike on large bell above and playing a tune every four hours on eight bells via sixteen hammers, the movement raised on steel spurs within the rising hood with swan-neck pediment with ball finials, foliate pierced wood soundfret to the front and side friezes, the trunk with panelled sides and rectangular door with oval lenticle and gilt-metal escutcheon, plain skirted plinth
