Near-contemporary English speckled calf gilt, spine in six compartments with raised bands, red morocco lettering-piece in one, the others with various small tools surrounding centrally-placed elephant crest, g.e. Provenance: Sir Andrew Fountaine (binding).
A FINE COPY of a work that was issued in many forms with up to five books. Falda's involvement ended with the issue of the third book in about 1667-1669. The first issues of the early books comprised plates without numbers; the present copy includes plate numbers and is therefore a later issue. Cf. Fowler 116.
