Executed in 1964 when the torreador Luis Miguel Dominguin's children were staying with the Picasso family over Christmas at La Californie in Cannes. The children's nanny enjoyed embroidery and Picasso executed this drawing for her to embroider. On an embroidery mesh he drew the image with felt-tip pen and the nanny began to work on a small section, but the needlework remained unfinished thus saving Picasso's drawing which would otherwise have been hidden.
