A MENNECY SILVER-MOUNTED OVAL SNUFF-BOX AND COVER
Circa 1755, decharge mark for Henry Clavel, Paris, 1750-56
Naturally modelled as two pugs lying curled up together on a grassy mound, the dogs with black snouts and brown fur, the cover moulded to the exterior with two entwined flowers and the interior painted with a bouquet, slight chips to inside rim of box above hinge and to one ear
