AN ARCHAIC BRONZE TRIPOD LIBATION WINE VESSEL, JUE

The deep cup raised on blade-like legs, finely cast around the body with raised bosses on a leiwen ground forming dissolved taotie flanking vertical flanges, one side with a loop handle issuing fom a bovine mask, an incription under the handle, the rim with two posts with conical finials cast with whorl patterns, the bronze with a rich dark patina and areas of malachite encrustation, one leg and post extremity restored
