A silver-gilt and enamel mounted birchwood Tub, Cover, Stand and Spoon
maker's mark of Gavriil Petrovich Grachev, St. Petersburg, circa 1870
Each piece mounted with silver-gilt bands enamelled with red rosettes in blue scrolls with blue borders, the tub of barrel form with birchwood slats bound by two silver gilt and enamel bands joined by two cruciform panels pierced at the sides and enamelled with a star border, with silver-gilt lining, the cover formed of similar slats with a wood handle, on circular wood base with detachable protective pad holding the tub, the spoon with birchwood handle, the silver-gilt bowl pierced with geometric bands, fully marked, in fitted wood case stamped in Cyrillic 'Grachev St.Petersburg' with Imperial warrant
