EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1660)
Of ovoid form with upright neck painted in underglaze blue with a stand of chrysanthemums with arching stems which wrap around the sides of the vase, two small butterflies and one wisp of cloud, the shoulder also painted in underglaze blue with a rui-shaped cloud collar and the upright neck patterned with a wide band of key frets between slender lines
10¾in. (27.2cm.) high, rim chips, vertical hairline crack through neck
