Lot Essay

Subsequent to the painting's cleaning, Craig Felton, Dr. William Jordan and Professor Nicola Spinosa have all accepted the present painting as an autograph work by Jusepe de Ribera. Dr. Arnauld Brejon de Lavergnée intends to publish the painting in a forthcoming issue of Connaissance des Arts.
