Note: "Two patent models. Both very well executed survive of shingle sawing machinery, and both are pivital models: ... And the other is the Dennis Lane original Shingle Mill patent. The one that founded an industry as Lane Manufacturing Company was and remains a major manufacturer of shingle mills and other woodworking machinery and the same patent was either leased to Chase, Hench and Dromgold and a number of other manufacturers, or simply utilized by them (prior to the expiration of the original patent). In fact. the Lane patented design is still utilized today in modern shingle mills, over 100 years after the original patent was granted".
