A SILK ON LINEN NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER, English, dated 1794, worked in green, blue, pink, black, brown and ivory silk threads in a variety of stitches with an alphabetic sequence and a numeric sequence above a crown flanked by blooming flowers over a wrouht verse, flowers, birds and trees and "Sarah Snowdan...1794," all above three trees with birds perched on the branches flanked by raindeer, snowflakes, hearts and crowns, the whole enclosed by a meandering acorn and vine border and further by a laticework border--16¾in. x 16½in.
