In the Jacob Petit style, the circular clock face with Roman chapters and gilt-bronze circumference set into the waisted oval case, rocaille scrolls at each side terminating in scroll feet, the shaped rectangular base on shell-moulded scroll feet, painted with panels of brightly coloured flowers reserved on the green ground within gilt cartouches, wear to gilding and to the top of the stand
