With a serpentine rectangular ormolu-moulded brêche violet marble top above a case applied with crisply cast berried-laurel swags and fitted with two drawers and a secretary drawer, on cabriole legs with scrolling sabots applied at the angles with ram's masks, chutes and volutes

The offered lot is similar to a table à transformations designed by Jean François Oeben for Louis XV and later redesigned be Leleu, now in the Wallace collection. (See Meuvret, Les Ébénistes du XVIIIe Siècle Français, 1963, p. 152, pl. 3)
