With an eared serpentine breccia marble top above a conforming frieze applied with a band of serpentine lattice entwined in flowering vines centering a grotesque mask the ends fitted with drawers centering a door inlaid with a sunburst framed in an avenue of trees and clouds above a panel flanked by S-scrolls centering a finely cast flower-filled urn all flanked by two pierced galleried shelves inset with marble divided by scrolling volutes hung with drapery, on splayed legs with ormolu paw feet, the lockplates stamped C+ Linke Serrerieuse, bearing the inscription 'F.Linke' (altered)

François Linke is renowned for his very individual interpretations of the Louis XV and XVI styles employing spectacual mounts in combination with delicate marquetry and extravagant forms.
