The flattened baluster vase carved in high relief on the shoulder with two seated boys with clasped hands, the sides incised with a scene of a bird flying above a lotus pond interspersed between the lotus leaves and blossoms and the long stems which issue from the band of frothing waves swirling upward from under the base, the cover also incised with lotus leaves and grasses and surmounted by a lotus blossom, the stone softly polished and with some opaque buff mottling, chips
