QIANLONG MARK, 19TH CENTURY, THE EMBELLISHMENT POSSIBLY BY THE TSUDA FAMILY, KYOTO

Of large spade shape, embellished and painted with a continuous garden scene, one side with a lady at her toilette before a mirror, an assistant beside her, the other side with three children with a fishing rod at a mischievious game at a large fish bowl, the embellishment carved from various hard and softstones including coral, malachite and soapstones and also some mother-of-pearl and silver, all on a parcel-gilt brown ground, minor nicks and wear
