Of rectangular shape decorated in iro-e takamaki-e with the sage Kuo Datung (Kaku Daitsu) holding a large stone surrounded by laughing boys under willows and pine trees, various details in togidashi and hirame and the background gold, the interior cases togidashi in a pattern of kikko-hanabishi; fitted with a wood netsuke of a man supporting an enormous mushroom and a carved cinnabar lacquer bead ojime--3in. (7.7cm.) high
